In this class, we'll explore various improv tools and building anchors that will lead to rich character development, discovering your strengths, and making the scene more interesting and entertaining.

About the Instructor

Jessica Mickey has over 20 years of experience in improv as an original company member of Theatre 99 in Charleston, SC and performs anytime she is in town with their ensembles, her two-person group Little Miss Codependent, and Mary Kay Has a Posse, now in its 22nd year of performances with all four original members. On top of her work with T99, she has studied with UCB NY, Annoyance Theater, and Miles Stroth and has shared the improv stage with cast members of Saturday Night Live, Kids in the Hall, Mad TV, and UCB. She co-edited the book Improv for Everyone by Greg Tavares and has performed in the Charleston Comedy Festival, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, Savannah Comedy Festival, and Annapolis Comedy Festival. She regularly teaches improv with Flying Squid Comedy and produces the experimental comedy showcase Chop Shop in Athens, GA.
